Ancelotti-Favourite Defender Will Leave Real Madrid if Club Signs 23-Year-Old Ace

With Kylian Mbappe’s signing now complete, Real Madrid turns its focus to another critical target this summer: Alphonso Davies. The Canadian full-back has been on Real Madrid’s radar for some time. However, with his contract with Bayern Munich running until 2025, his signing poses a challenge. Bayern Munich’s firm stance on retaining Davies has complicated the matter further for Los Blancos.

No Room for Three

Despite Bayern Munich’s efforts to keep Davies, Real Madrid is determined to secure his transfer this summer. According to Cadena SER, if Davies joins, Ferland Mendy will almost certainly leave Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that he cannot accommodate three left-backs in his squad. Consequently, either Fran Garcia or Mendy will have to depart, with Mendy being the likelier candidate due to his contract status, which expires next year. The club has informed Mendy that a decision regarding his future will be made soon.

On Track with Davies

Reports indicate that Davies recently rejected an offer from Bayern Munich, making his departure more plausible. Bayern demands €50 million for Davies, but Real Madrid has set a spending limit of €30 million and will not exceed this amount.

Vincent Kompany’s side faces a tough decision. Allowing Davies to run down the final year of his contract could backfire, similar to the Kylian Mbappe situation with PSG. For now, Real Madrid appears to be in a strong position to secure the deal.
