Cesc Fabregas Shares What Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham Must Do for England

Cesc Fabregas has emphasized that Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham need to take specific actions to enhance their performances for England.

Following England’s 1-0 win against Serbia, Fabregas noted that Foden should demand the ball as much as Bellingham. During the 1-1 draw with Denmark, Foden was more involved, nearly scoring with a long shot that struck the post, showing his threat in central areas.

However, Fabregas pointed out that both Foden and Bellingham were not at their best in that game, and Denmark appeared to be the superior team overall.

Looking ahead to their match against Slovenia, Fabregas believes that Foden and Bellingham must develop a strong understanding and actively seek each other out on the pitch. This connection is crucial, as Rio Ferdinand also suggested that teammates need to recognize and utilize their go-to players, whether it’s Bellingham, Foden, Harry Kane, or Bukayo Saka.

Fabregas highlighted the importance of these connections, drawing from his own experience with Diego Costa at Chelsea. He explained that such bonds often form naturally through game intelligence rather than coaching.

To benefit England, Foden and Bellingham should work on building this partnership during training, understanding each other’s strengths and preferred positions. If they succeed, Fabregas believes their connection could be key to England’s success at Euro 2024.
