The initial photo of Kylian Mbappe’s latest mask surfaces as Didier Deschamps provides a significant update on his injury.”

Didier Deschamps, the manager of France, has provided an update on Kylian Mbappe’s fitness ahead of their Euro 2024 match against the Netherlands, alongside the emergence of the first image of Mbappe’s new mask.

Mbappe sustained a broken nose during France’s 1-0 victory over Austria, colliding with Kevin Danso. He was unable to finish the match and will wear a protective mask for the rest of Euro 2024, followed by surgery after the tournament ends. Reports on his availability for Friday’s match against the Netherlands have varied, but Deschamps provided an optimistic update, stating in a press conference, “Kylian Mbappe is improving and there’s a good chance he’ll be ready for tomorrow. It’s heading in the right direction.” Antoine Griezmann also commented positively on Mbappe’s recovery, noting, “Kylian is doing well, his swelling is going down. We’ll see how he progresses.”

Mbappe himself lightened the situation on social media, playfully asking for mask suggestions from fans for the remainder of the tournament.

Mbappe took to Instagram on Wednesday with a post stating, “Without risks, there are no victories..” Additionally, the first image of the mask he will wear has surfaced online, featuring the colors of the French flag – blue, white, and red.

The 25-year-old, set to join Real Madrid on July 1, serves as France’s captain and played a crucial role in their 1-0 victory over Austria. His cross led to an own goal by Maximilian Wober in the first half.

Despite this contribution, Mbappe missed an unexpected one-on-one opportunity from close range. He now aims to regain full fitness to face the Netherlands and open his scoring account in the tournament on Friday.
