Real Madrid and AC Milan have officially announced that AC Milan has activated the purchase option for 19-year-old defender Alex Jimenez.
Jimenez, who spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Milan, quickly impressed first-team coaches despite initially joining the Under-19 team. His remarkable performances earned him a call-up to the main squad, where he made five appearances across different competitions.
The transfer deal, which does not disclose the me financial details, includes a buy-back clause for Real Madrid. This clause allows them to repurchase Jimenez in the future, showing their continued faith in his potential development.

Jimenez’s journey with Real Madrid began at the tender age of seven when he joined their esteemed youth academy. Over the years, he worked his way up through the ranks, eventually reaching the club’s reserve team, Castilla. His time at Milan has already provided him with valuable experience playing in one of Europe’s top leagues, and staying with the Italian club will allow him to further hone his skills and gain more first-team experience.
“Jimenez, born in Madrid on May 8, 2005, and trained in the white youth academy, arrived last season at Milan, where he made 19 appearances for the Primavera team and contributed to the European journey of the U-19 team to the final of the Youth League,” said Milan in their statement.
“The Spanish player made his first-team debut on January 2, 2024, in the Italian Cup against Cagliari, making a total of five appearances.”
