Chelsea Agree £15.6m Deal to Sign Real Madrid Target

Since changing ownership, Chelsea has shifted its focus to signing the best young talents worldwide, rather than pursuing proven and experienced players. While this strategy has yet to yield results on the pitch, the club remains committed to its long-term vision. In line with this approach, Chelsea has signed one of Real Madrid’s rumored targets.

Real Madrid has also been active in signing talented youngsters globally, achieving positive results by balancing youth and experience.

Aaron Anselmino, a highly-regarded Argentine center-back and one of South America’s top prospects, has been linked with Real Madrid. However, according to the BBC, Chelsea has agreed to a £15.6 million deal in principle to sign Anselmino. The deal includes a loan back to Boca Juniors until at least January.

Chelsea’s heavy spending in the first two seasons under new ownership has limited their ability to compete for top talents this summer. Instead, they have focused on signing young players who may not yet be game-changers. Under new manager Enzo Maresca, pre-season results have been less than encouraging.

In contrast, Real Madrid, the defending La Liga and Champions League holders, have added Kylian Mbappe and Endrick to their squad for the 2024/25 season, further strengthening their position.
