Real Madrid aims to reinforce their squad, particularly in central defense, following Nacho’s departure and Alaba’s injury setback. “The Athletic” reports that Real Madrid’s management had requested coach Carlo Ancelotti to secure a new defender during the summer transfer window, but the request was declined.

The club nearly acquired French defender Lenny Euro this summer, but Manchester United secured his signing at the last moment with a higher offer. After missing out on Euro, Real Madrid’s management, led by Florentino Perez, is now contemplating postponing the signing of a new defender until next summer.

Ancelotti requested that Real Madrid’s management acquire a new defender to address the noticeable gap in that position. However, the management’s response surprised the Italian coach, as they expressed confidence in his ability to effectively utilize the current defenders. The club has decided to make a final decision on signing a new defender in December, depending on the situation with Austrian David Alaba.
